These bone-in chops are seasoned to perfection, perfectly seared, and baked until incredibly juicy. A quick, foolproof dinner that looks and tastes like it came from a steakhouse!
- Prep time: 10 mins
- Cook time: 20 mins
- Total time: 30 mins
- Servings: 4-6 servings
Ingredients
- 4 to 6 bone-in chops (about 1-inch thick, as seen in image_a2f204.jpg)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (for that beautiful golden color)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions
1. Prep the Oven and Meat
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup, just like in image_a2f204.jpg. Pat the chops completely dry with paper towels (this helps the seasoning stick and gives a better crust).
2. Season Generously
In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Rub both sides of the chops with olive oil, then press the spice mixture evenly onto all sides of the meat.
3. Arrange on the Pan
Place the seasoned chops in a single layer on the foil-lined baking sheet, ensuring they aren’t overcrowded so they cook evenly.
4. Bake to Perfection
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes (depending on thickness). For an extra golden-brown, crispy crust like the ones in image_a2f204.jpg, turn on the oven broiler for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking.
5. Rest and Serve
Remove from the oven and let the meat rest for 5 minutes before serving. This locks in all the juices so every bite stays tender!
Chef’s Tip: Always use a meat thermometer if you have one! You’re looking for an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) followed by a 3-minute rest.
