Easy Homemade Strawberry Limoncello
Description
Bring a taste of summer to your glass with this vibrant Homemade Strawberry Limoncello! Made with fresh, sweet strawberries and high-proof alcohol, this refreshing Italian liqueur (Fragolinello) is incredibly smooth, sweet, and perfect for sipping ice-cold straight from the freezer.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs Fresh Strawberries (ripe, washed, completely dried, and sliced)
- 1 bottle (750ml) High-Proof Alcohol (such as 151-proof Everclear or a premium 100-proof Vodka)
- 3 cups Water
- 2.5 cups Granulated Sugar
Instructions
Step 1: Infuse the Fruit
- Place your clean, sliced strawberries into a large, airtight glass jar as seen in

- Seal the jar tightly and store it in a cool, dark place for 5 to 7 days, shaking gently once a day. The liquid will turn a gorgeous ruby-red as the strawberries release their flavor.
Step 2: Strain the Liquid
- After a week, line a fine-mesh strainer with cheesecloth or a coffee filter over a large pot.
- Pour the strawberry-infused alcohol through the strainer to separate the liquid from the fruit. Gently press the berries to catch every drop of juice, then discard the solids.
Step 3: Mix with Simple Syrup
- In a saucepan, combine the water and sugar over medium heat. Stir continuously until the sugar completely dissolves, then remove from heat.
- Let the simple syrup cool completely to room temperature.
- Once cooled, pour the syrup into your strained strawberry alcohol and stir well to combine.
Step 4: Bottle and Freeze
- Use a funnel to pour your finished strawberry limoncello into clean glass bottles and seal them.
- Store the bottles directly in the freezer for at least 24 hours before serving. (Don’t worry, the alcohol content prevents it from freezing solid!). Serve ice-cold in small shot glasses.
