🛒 Ingredients
For the Cabbage:

- Water (for boiling)
- 1 tbsp Salt
For the Filling:
- 1 lb (500g) Ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
- 2 cups Cooked white rice
- 1 small Onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 Large egg
- 1 tsp Salt and 1/2 tsp Black pepper
- 1 tsp Smoked paprika
For the Tomato Sauce:
- 1 can (15 oz) Tomato sauce
- 1 can (14 oz) Crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp Brown sugar (for that classic sweet & sour kick)
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice or Apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup Beef broth or water
👨🍳 Instructions
- Prep the Cabbage: Boil the whole head of cabbage in a large pot of salted water for 5-8 minutes until the outer leaves are soft. Peel them off carefully and trim the thick center vein.
- Make the Filling: In a large bowl, mix the ground meat, cooked rice, onion, garlic, egg, and spices until well combined.
- Roll Them Up: Place about 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture on each cabbage leaf. Fold in the sides and roll it up tightly.
- The Sauce: Whisk together the tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, brown sugar, lemon juice, and broth.
- Bake: Place the rolls seam-side down in a baking dish. Pour the sauce over the top. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 60-90 minutes until the meat is fully cooked and the cabbage is tender.
