Garlic Butter Steak & Potatoes (Foil Packets)

 Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 600–700 g steak (sirloin, ribeye, or beef cubes)
  • 700 g baby potatoes (halved)
  • 3 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried oregano or thyme
  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, optional)

 Instructions

  1. Preheat
    • Oven: 200°C (400°F)
    • OR Grill: medium-high heat
  2. Prep the potatoes
    • In a bowl, mix potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, and half the garlic.
  3. Season the steak
    • Toss steak with salt, pepper, oregano, and remaining garlic.
  4. Assemble foil packets
    • Cut 4 large pieces of foil.
    • Add potatoes first, then steak on top.
    • Drizzle melted butter over everything.
    • Seal foil tightly.
  5. Cook
    • Oven: 30–35 minutes
    • Grill: 20–25 minutes (flip once)
  6. Finish
    • Open foil carefully.
    • Sprinkle with parsley.
    • Optional: broil 3–5 minutes for extra browning.

 Tips

  • Want it spicy? Add chili flakes.
  • Extra juicy? Add 1 tbsp beef broth to each packet.
  • Swap steak for chicken or lamb—same method.
