- 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella or Cheddar cheese.
- 1 small Onion (finely chopped).
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced).
- 1 teaspoon Dried oregano or Italian seasoning.
- Salt and black pepper to taste.
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish).
Instructions
- Prepare Potatoes: Boil the sliced potatoes in salted water for about 8-10 minutes until they are slightly tender but still hold their shape. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the Meat: In a skillet, sauté the onions and garlic until soft. Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Season: Stir in the tomato sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Layering: In a greased baking dish, place a layer of potatoes, then spread the meat mixture evenly over them. Add another layer of potatoes if you have extras.
- Bake: Top generously with shredded cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbling.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
