Description
These Salmon Patties are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. A perfect way to turn simple canned or fresh salmon into a gourmet meal. Serve them with a side of lemon herb mayo or a fresh salad!
Ingredients
- The Salmon: 1 lb (approx. 450g) Salmon (canned, drained or cooked fresh).
- The Binder: 2 Eggs (beaten) and 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (Panko works best for extra crunch).
- The Veggies: 1/4 cup finely diced Onion and 1/4 cup chopped Celery or Bell Pepper.
- The Flavor: * 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard.
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder.
- 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley (chopped).
- Salt & Black Pepper to taste.
- A dash of Lemon juice.
- For Frying: 2-3 tbsp Olive oil or Butter.
Preparation Steps
- Mix: In a large bowl, flake the salmon with a fork. Add the breadcrumbs, onion, eggs, mustard, lemon juice, and seasonings. Mix until well combined.
- Shape: Form the mixture into small, even-sized patties (about the size of a palm).
- Tip: If the mixture feels too loose, add a bit more breadcrumbs.
- Rest: For the best results, place the patties in the fridge for 15-20 minutes. This helps them stay together while frying.
- Fry: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the patties for 3-4 minutes per side until they are deep golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Garnish with extra parsley and serve warm with lemon wedges.
