Garlic Butter Steak & Potatoes (Foil Packets)
Ingredients (4 servings)
- 600–700 g steak (sirloin, ribeye, or beef cubes)
- 700 g baby potatoes (halved)
- 3 tbsp butter (melted)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried oregano or thyme
- Salt & black pepper (to taste)
- Fresh parsley (chopped, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat
- Oven: 200°C (400°F)
- OR Grill: medium-high heat
- Prep the potatoes
- In a bowl, mix potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, and half the garlic.
- Season the steak
- Toss steak with salt, pepper, oregano, and remaining garlic.
- Assemble foil packets
- Cut 4 large pieces of foil.
- Add potatoes first, then steak on top.
- Drizzle melted butter over everything.
- Seal foil tightly.
- Cook
- Oven: 30–35 minutes
- Grill: 20–25 minutes (flip once)
- Finish
- Open foil carefully.
- Sprinkle with parsley.
- Optional: broil 3–5 minutes for extra browning.
Tips
- Want it spicy? Add chili flakes.
- Extra juicy? Add 1 tbsp beef broth to each packet.
- Swap steak for chicken or lamb—same method.
